Post Earthquake - Term 1 workshop

School has started again
and we are 3 weeks on from the Earthquake.
I hope everybody is doing allright and that you are getting ahead with life again.

I have opened the workshops for the remainder of Term 1
Being 5 workshop sessions on Wednesdays from 3:30 - 5 pm after school.
We will start on the 16th March and we will be Art Journalling.
This is a great way for the kids to learn how to keep a journal and what this can do for them as a visual diary and help emotionally as well.

another technique they had a good play with.
This technique really speaks to children
they intuitively love to cut snippets from papers and magazines
and glue them on and doodle around...
they just needed some guidance and they were off.

most of them used colours of course !

Jointed Paper-Dolls

We had fun, drawing, painting, cutting and embellishing

these paperdolls before adding the joints

They now live in their little fun booklets all folded up, but when the pages opens... they can stretch their limbs !

The Journal Booklets are sewn !

The booklets got sewn together this week and adorned with danglin' bits

-Very exciting !-

And we made a start with adding some of our previously made drawings

onto the first pages of the journal.

Yummie Paper

After the paint dried completely I cut the big sheets into strips...

in preparation for...
next class when we'll be sewing them into little journal booklets....
How cool is that ?

We're making little Art journals !

At the moment the kids in my Monday afternoon Journalling Workshop are making their own art journals, and we're going to fill them up as well !

It's fun, it's exciting, it's paint and paper and stuff !
